1 concho grass
( concho [kón,t∫o]< Spanish concha [see above])DARE: 1884. Texas millet ( compare with Colorado grass). According to the DARE, the name of this grass probably comes from the Concho River in Texas, but it may derive from Spanish concho, meaning cornhusk (the DRAE confirms that concho has this meaning in Ecuador). Cobos notes that in New Mexico and southern Colorado, maíz concho is a type of large grain corn. -
